A Hockey Kid in SoCal

I’m just your average kid in Southern California. I have no natural athletic ability, have never been in the best of shape, and yet ice hockey is what I’ve always loved. Growing up I was always surrounded by kids at school that were always great at sports like basketball, baseball, football and soccer. I could never fit in with those guys because I could just never keep up. My interests weren’t with those sports, they were with ice hockey. I wanted to be good at something that those kids could never dream of. When I finally got the chance to go for it, what I found out the hard way was this: ice hockey is tough! And not only is it tough, but it’s right up there in terms of being the hardest sport on the planet.
