Four rants have been made since I opened this website:

JoshChristian99 aka JoshU2uber – another little kid troll on YouTube who is essentially the sequel to ChristianU2uber, has managed to stay on the internet despite being hated and flagged.

Idiot Fans Featuring JMAPXP – JMAP and I team up on this one where we talk about idiot fanboys and fangirls of not just pop artists, but also our idiot metalhead brethren as well.

Video Games – I am a former gamer who just can’t get into video games anymore. While I still enjoy to play them, I don’t get into them as much as I used to anymore, and I give my reasons for it.

Singles vs Albums – This is more of a statement than a rant, but I give my reasons for why I prefer getting albums as opposed to just downloading a single song or two by an artist.

Also, Chapter 1 of “A Hockey Kid in SoCal” is up and running. It’s all about my first 6-8 months of the hockey experience. If you don’t want to read it all, at least check out the two sketches, one at the beginning, and one at the end!

House MD is like a “CSI” type show about strange medical mysteries, and it is up to Dr. House and his team of diagnosticians to provide the correct diagnosis on the patient before he/she dies.

I could always relate with the shows main protagonist, Dr. Gregory House. It’s not because I’m a genius, have an interest in medicine, but because I can relate to his lack of ability to fit into social norms. I’ve always been that kind of person my entire life, whether growing up as a kid, to even now when dealing with more grown up situations.

The final episode of season six has just aired, and now we House fans have to wait until September before we get our anticipations up again. I’m simply going to state my recap and review of the season.

Dr. Gregory House  is an extremely intelligent doctor who saves many lives by solving the seemingly impossible medical cases as the head of the department of diagnostics medicine. His anti – social personality is not liked by everyone due to his narcissistic behavior, disdain for most people, and his dry, cruel, sarcastic sense of humor. He is a man of few friendships, and even fewer loves. In the timeline before the series storyline arc began, House suffered an injury to his leg that left his right leg crippled, resulting in a permanent limp and high amount of pain. He becomes addicted to narcotics like Vicodin, and abuses the drug to counter the pain. By the fifth season, he begins to hallucinate and becomes delusional as a result of side effects.

At the beginning, Dr. House seeks professional help to not only stop the hallucinations and delusions, but also begin to battle his inner demons over addiction to painkillers, in an attempt to feel happy as opposed to being the same miserable person he was for the first five seasons. In the season opener at the psychiatric hospital, he meets a woman named Lydia and experiences a human connection with her that results in a one night stand. However, when Lydia decides to move away to be with her family instead of ending up with him, he feels lost and devastated. Rather than drink himself away and turn to drugs, he goes to his consulting physician, Dr. Nolan, for help, which results in him being reinstated as a doctor due to Nolan feeling he was now ready to go back into the world.

During the middle of season six, he comes to terms with dealing with his pain, realizing that doing what he does best helps keep the severe pain from his leg injury pain away, but I also see it as helping him resist his inner demons. He moves in and shares an apartment with Dr. Wilson, his best friend, in order to have support as he was healing.  But as he is trying to feel happier, life steps in his way, and everyone moves on except for him. He realizes he is attracted to Dr. Cuddy and finally tries to pursue a relationship with her, only to find out that Lucas, his former private detective from season 5, “got to her first.” To make things worse, towards the end of the season, Wilson gets re-involved with his first wife named Samantha, and then asks House to move out.

In the episode before the season finale, he is seen in a psychotherapy session where Dr. Nolan tries to get to the bottom of not only what he was feeling about Wilson kicking him out, but also why he got drunk and into a bar fight, there punishing himself mentally and physically over something that was bugging him. He finally admitted what his issue was, “everyone is happy.” The two closest people in his life, Wilson and Cuddy, are all happy, in relationships, and moving on. At this point it’s apparent that he is feeling miserable and lonely as a result, because his relationships with the two things that mattered in his life were not going the way he wanted. Nothing was feeling right for him. When Dr. Nolan tried to go deeper into that, House backed away and stormed out of the session, saying, “I’ve been listening to you for a year, and I’m still miserable.”

In the season finale, House finds out Cuddy got engaged, and visibly becomes more bugged. After House continues to defy Cuddy over the need to amputate the leg of a patient that is trapped in a damaged building, it leads to an argument between House and Cuddy where Cuddy finally tells House to move on because she doesn’t love House, and that saving his leg didn’t help his life. House finally agrees to get the leg amputated and the patient out of the rubble and into an ambulance, however, the patient still dies due to an uncontrollable fat embolism from the amputation. He still did everything right, yet the patient still died, which is something that makes him feel worse to the point where he nearly reverts back to his self destructive behavior. He staggers his way to his old apartment and breaks his bathroom mirror to reveal a hidden stash of vicodin, the link to his old miserable self, and is about to pop pills when Cuddy confronts him. After telling House that she ended her engagement to Lucas, she reveals her feelings for him at last, which then causes House to throw away the pills as they embrace. Ultimately at the end of the episode it is Cuddy that saves him, and the end of the season has the character development for House in season six end on a positive and hopeful note.

Sure, we can question if the ending really happened this time, since we had already seen this before in season five, in which we were first led to believe that House slept with Cuddy after she helped him detox, only to find out it was all a hallucination.

Season six of “House M.D.” was definitely the most interesting season of the show in my opinion. It is mostly because the show focused more on character development and less on the medical mysteries, which after five seasons were becoming dull and predictable. We could always predict when the patient would puke blood, start crashing, bleed sweat, become paralyzed, and almost always be saved due to House’s epiphanies. In some episodes, by the time the correct diagnosis is found, we don’t even care about the patient anymore.

Season five started to have more character development and more continuity involved in the story, but I think six took it a step further. Entire episodes were dedicated to the other two important people in House’s life, Wilson and Cuddy respectively. Because of those episodes, we got to see what was in the heads of those two, especially when dealing with House.

As with House, he goes through the most change in this season than ever before, and as a result becomes a much more interesting character. Not only does he become more interesting, but he becomes a more likable character, and the viewer can now sympathize with what he’s going through. While House’s antics in prior seasons made him seem inhumane even among his friends and coworkers, season six showed a more human side to him.

I can’t wait to see what happens in season 7.

The Prologue chapter of A Hockey Kid In SoCal is currently available, and Chapter 1 of it is on its way soon.

This is a series of huge old word documents where I wrote down most if not all my hockey memories. Originally this was written in 2004.  Today I have looked back at it, and have decided to re-edit it to fit my current writing standards, and add a lot more to the story that I haven’t mentioned before.

The reason why I’m finally putting it up is that I feel it is definitely worth checking out. I feel that after I re-edit it from its primitive version into what I envision for it today, it will be ready for the world to see. There will also be some artwork put into each chapter of the story.
